The Angel Program

Our Christmas Angel Program is our biggest event of the year! Many of our clients are secluded, living on budgets of less than $150/month, or have simply outlived their friends and family, meaning Christmas can be a sad and difficult time of year for them. That's where we come in.

Here's how it works: Our senior and disabled adult clients, with the help of their case manager or residential facility coordinator, fill out a wish list. These lists are sent to Granny's and then we match the wishes to Angels (YOU!) who anonymously purchase and wrap the presents. We ask clients to keep their wish lists in the $40-50 range. Clients typically ask for things like clothing, towels, sheets, blankets, body wash & lotion sets, hats & gloves, arts & crafts items, special treats, etc

We truly appreciate everyone who makes this happen for our senior and adults with disabilities clients each year. You make us proud to be part of such a wonderful community!

Frequently asked questions

May I deliver the gift myself?
No, this is an anonymous program and all gifts are delivered by case managers.
Could I sponsor more than one client? Could my organization sponsor several people?
Yes! You/your organization are welcome to sponsor as many as you'd like.
I'm not available on the scheduled drop off days; do you have other drop off days?
No, please contact us to make alternate plans beforehand.
Can I buy more than what is on the wish list?
Yes, however, please DO NOT gift food of any kind (unless it's been requested), as a lot of the clients who participate have dietary restrictions and/or allergies.
Does the item need to be new?
Yes, please only purchase new items and when available, please include the gift receipt.

Do I have to buy everything on the wish list?
No, it is up to you if you would like to purchase some or all of the items.

How do I know what style or color to buy if it isn't on the request?

This happens a lot, and we always suggest you purchase whatever YOU might like to receive.

May I buy gifts online?
Yes, it is OK to purchase gifts through Amazon or other online retailers.
May I give the client a holiday card?
Yes, of course - but please do not sign your last name or give any contact information as this is an anonymous program.
Instead of sponsoring a client, can I donate money directly to Granny’s Closet so you can buy items throughout the year?
Of course! Visit the donate page for more information.
What about a gift receipt?
If you have one please include it, however, gift receipts are not mandatory. And please know our clients all have case managers or an employee at their residence to assist them with exchanges if needed.
